>> Stonington, MA - Renovation of 18th Century Icehouse and conversion to art studio/apartment. Work included demolition of wall and ceiling finishes, installation of skylights and windows, sprayed-in insulation, new bathroom, custom carpentry to re-purpose antique doors with sliding barn door hardware, framing for transom windows, new railing system, finishes and trim.
>> Lincoln, MA - (The Bogner House) Collaborated with 3rd generation owner to create 3-phased plan to renovate and preserve architecturally significant modern house built in 1939 (by owner's grandfather). Phase 1 work included restoration and replacement of rotted sill beams, siding, trim and architectural elements, restoration of existing awning and shed outbuilding, installation of new clerestory, carport and dining room window clusters with insulated glass, upgraded underground electrical service, coordinated installation of radon remediation system.
>> Stonington, CT - Rot removal and structural repairs on colonial farmhouse (circa 1740). Work included select demolition, removing clapboards and sheathing, chiseling out rotted sections of post and beam timberframe and splicing in new sections of sawn oak timbers, installing new plank sheathing, housewrap, insulation and cedar clapboard siding and trim.
>> Westford, MA - Complete restoration and structural stabilization of an antique barn (circa 1850). Work included disassembling and rebuilding the existing fieldstone foundation, replacing all sawn timber sill beams, repairing posts, beams and structural connections, removing the existing concrete floor and building a new wood floor, framing a new second floor loft and stairway, installing new windows, doors, housewrap, clapboard siding, trim and cupola. >>Brookline, MA - Investigation and repair of water infiltration issue in foundation of early 19th century home. Work included hand excavation along field stone foundation wall, forming and pouring new concrete foundation walls, waterproofing, backfilling and restoring the landscaping.
>> Stonington, CT - Structural overhaul of antique post and beam corn crib. Work included jacking and shoring the entire structure in place, excavating (by hand) and removing the existing granite support piers, pouring new concrete footings and re-setting the original granite supports piers. Work also included removing and replacing rotted sill beams, door header, slotted board siding and reinforcing the existing floor joists.
>> Stonington, CT - Preservation of historic shed structure. Work included complete replacement of sill beams and wood shingle roof, replacing rotted roof sheathing, installing new structural header above slider doors and repairing sliders and hardware.
