American Dreamwrights' past and current exterior work includes:

>> Charlestown, RI / Phase 1 – Custom addition and renovation designed by Brian Healy Architects. Phase 1 consisted of replacing an existing rooftop green house with a new solarium and roof deck. Work included cantilevered steel beam roof framing, extensive structural reinforcements, a floor-to-ceiling sliding glass wall, custom windows, continuous wall-to-ceiling-to-floor shiplap wrapped wood trim and bamboo paneled walls. >> Charlestown, RI / Phase 2 - Custom addition and renovation designed by Brian Healy Architects. Phase 2 consisted of constructing a new master bedroom veranda on the 2nd floor and renovating the existing dining room area on the 1st floor. Work included extensive structural reinforcements, 4 floor-to-ceiling sliding glass walls, continuous wall-to-ceiling-to-floor shiplap wrapped wood trim and bamboo paneled walls. >> Lexington, MA / Phase 1 - Collaborated with architect-owner to construct new garden studio and loft. Work included structural framing, sheathing, window and door installation, siding and trim. Interior work included wood flooring, railings and trap door in the loft area, a polished concrete floor with radiant heat, a custom built "stone curtain" window, customized work tables, and "live edge" shelving units. >> Lexington, MA - Continued collaboration with architect-owner to oversee the design, fabrication and installation of a steel deck, bridge and canopies. Work included a cantilevered steel deck and bridge to connect the 2nd floor master suite (built by AD) with the loft in the adjacent (studio) outbuilding (also built by AD). Work also included ornamental canopies over all farmhouse and outbuilding entryways.

>> Cambridge, MA - Work included replacing worn cedar shingle siding, restoring historic trim on windows and doors and painting all shingles and trim.

>> Stonington, CT - Complete restoration of exterior finishes. Work included re-siding the front facade with replica novelty boards, replacing shingle siding with Cedar Valley cedar shingle panels, refurbishing salvaged windows, doors and carriage doors for re-use, installing windows, doors, carriage doors and 4 oversized skylights, painting and staining. Interior work included complete renovation and conversion to residential use. See interiors.

>> Westerly, RI - Investigation and identification of water infiltration at seaside cottage. Work included selective demolition and investigation, installation of new weather proofing, housewrap and cedar clapboard siding.

>> Arlington, MA - Patio and stairs. Collaborated with owner to design and construct a backyard patio and improve drainage/grading issues at the back of the house. Work consisted of excavation, grading, sub-surface preparations, installation of a bluestone paver patio area and construction of small wood deck and stairway to the kitchen.

>> Cambridge, MA - New finished floor decking. Work included installing new mahogany flooring on rear and front decks; before and after pictured below.

>> Cambridge, MA - Collaborated with owner to design-build a "stealth" bicycle shed from "borrowed space" that cantilevers from an existing porch and immediately abuts a building next door. Work included select demo of existing finishes (to be saved and reused), framing a cantilevered floor support system, "remote construction" (on the street) of wall and roof components (because there was no room to frame the shed "in place" since space between the shed and adjacent building was so tight - in fact the wall needed to be framed with extra thin studs in order to have enough depth to accommodate the bicycles' handlebars), installation of roof shingles and flashing, construction of concealed barn door, finishes, trim and paint.

>> Everett, MA - Complete reconstruction of the front porch, 2nd story sunroom and 2-level deck at the back of the house. Work included demolition, foundation, framing, waterproofing, siding, railings and trim, including the installation of 3 pre-cast, structural Corinthian columns.

>> Roslindale, MA & Cambridge, MA - New finished floor decking and railings. 2 similar projects where work included rebuilding 2-level rear decks and installing new mahogany decking and railings.
